Abstraction arrogantly ignores in order to form general categories. But the haughtiness of generalizations is inevitable because the tendencies it reflects are seen from a bird’s eye view. Arrogance in abstraction is unintentional and friendly. But when detached and hence incorrigible dogmatic categories are taken to heart they normally invoke hostility.
Abstract reasoning peeps beyond the senses. Any gap in perception and any dissatisfaction stimulate the imagination. Abstract reasoning is insatiable and greedy because reality corrects it poorly. It lives a life of its own. It guesses, admires and segregates. Its potential to generate hostility is almost out of control. Any gap in perception and dissatisfaction harmonizes with the insatiability of irrational thinking and empowers its undesirable side-effects. And this applies to the erogenous sensitivity removed at circumcision too.
Idealization may be inspiring because it offers shortcuts. Simplifications tend to be addictive as they reduce the efforts needed for both comprehension and action. The creativity stimulated by ideals is impatient and unbalanced. Idealization is also conservative because its subject is encapsulated and incorrigible.
Abstract theories are irrefutable because they are based on improvable dogmas or constants. It is not the authenticity of their principles that empowers them but their ability to mystify, to strike with awe and to offer instant solutions. The enthusiasm they stimulate often overrides the fact that the wings they lend are clipped at birth. As a consequence the ineffectiveness of abstract ideas tends to be attributed to external factors. Yet the cliquishness to which doctrinism is conductive is very helpful in making enemies. Abstract doctrines search for foes and breed hostility. They need to make public enemies in order to survive.
The world presented as governed by two antagonistic tendencies is beautifully simple. Bipolar symmetry is easily digestible. It is easy for one to identify with the positive extremity. Yet the antagonism mobilizes, the enemy is clear-cut and the victory seems easy.
Polarization is an inevitable side-effect of conceptual reasoning. Abstract doctrines are based on artificial antagonism. They hold the potential of aggression.

Symmetry appears supernatural and it really is. “God symmetrizes” said once Plato, and he was right because there is order in nature. But the symmetry of the plain human mind is even simpler than the plainer planar symmetry. It is a brain-generated and brain-required reflection symmetry. That is why we perceive God’s plan as implemented by opposition. That is why the search of truth repeatedly ends up with wars.
